Dear Colleague:
It is a pleasure to announce that applications are now being accepted (until July 1) for the 2024 OBEL Award Teaching Fellowships.
The Obel Award Teaching Fellowship program has been established to enhance debate and learning around the themes defined each year for the OBEL AWARD. The yearly focus reflects pressing issues for people and the planet while expressing the potential of architecture and design to positively impact our built environment. Seminal ideas for cities (the focus of the 2020 award) and adaptation as related to coastal resilience (the focus of the 2023 award) are the themes for the 2024 teaching fellowships.
This year, three fellowships for up to 75.000€ each will be awarded: one each in Australia, countries in South Asia, and Africa. The fellowships will support the teaching of subjects within official programs at the university level. Bringing professionals and new voices into academia, supporting new pedagogies, and contributing to creating new knowledge around some of the most important challenges of our time, are some of the goals of this initiative.
The fellowship is geared to professionals with at least five years' experience and who may want to share their experience and knowledge in an academic setting. I hope you will consult further information and consider identifying a potential fellow (to bring new talent to your institution), and together send in a joint online application. The application, as you will see, is straightforward and easy to fill out. The online, joint application should include both the potential fellow and the academic institution.
Please see our website for complete information on the OBEL Award, Foundation, and teaching fellowships. www.obelaward.org/initiatives/2024-teaching-fellowships/
I am at your disposal should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
