R0132 – MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY (2 Credits)

Learning Outcomes : By the end of this course, the students will be able to: Students will be able to explain the types of materials used for building structural elements; Students will be able to identify the elements of building using specific material; Students will be able to select the type, quality, and size of materials to be used in building structural elements; Students will be able to produce structural design of the building elements that use a particular material; Students will be able to show the relationship between the utility with up to date materials technology; Students will be able to design building elements structure by combining the integration of mechanical engineering and material technology, in order to apply to wood, steel and concrete structures.

R0142 – BUILDING PHYSICS (2 Credits)

Learning Outcomes : Students are able to: Explain the correlation between the building physics and architecture; Explain about physics (light, air, voice and also climate) in the relation with architecture design to create convenience (visual, thermal, audial) and save energy in building; Understand the quality of space (comfort: visual, thermal and audio) and also recognize the building problems for tropic area; Select illumination system, ventilation and air condition system, acoustic, noise control to attain space quality and convenience and save energy in building; Make building design by considering some aspects: light, air, voice and save energy building and also solution of architecture design for the tropic area.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students should be able to : Understand and apply the theories from literature as reference of a topic; Develop field observation to recognize the practices in real world about certain topic; Make analysis and synthesis about certain topic based on literature study and field observation; Evaluate a problem through discussion in a team work; Compile a report according to academic requisite both as a team and as individual.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students should be able to: Design constructive architectural building; Connect the principles and methods of picture presentation both in 2D and 3D.

R0452 – MATHEMATICS OF ARCHITECTURE (2 Credits)

Learning Outcomes : At the end of this course, the students will be able to: Point out mathematical elements that exist in architecture; Construct mathematical concepts in three-dimensional form using mathematical and graphic software; Create more variety and rich architectural form and space; Mathematics of Architecture train students so that they can have the knowledge of space and form based on the mathematical approach.

Topics : The knowledge of geometrical form (Polygon, Polyhedron, Curve, Curved Surface, Hyper 3D), analysis of formal composition, the design of Architectural space using forms that are generated from mathematical operations through a combination of computer programs.

 

R0464 – SITE PLANNING (4 Credits) 

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students will be able to understand the principles of site planning; to understand relationship between concept, theory and analyzing of housing planning and design; to understand about site, exterior space, and aware that landscape is part of architectural design.

Topics : Knowledge of  theory, process, standard and product of city planning, and the relationship with private building; Introduction to landscape architecture related to building design; Awareness of ecological design, environmental principles and the impacts of design to the ecosystem; The sociology of the city.

 

R0474 – BUILDING TECHNOLOGY I (4 Credits)

Learning Outcomes : On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: Identify the concept of structure and construction of low building (1-2 storey); Describe system structure, construction and building materials; Explain the technical specifications of building materials for structures; Plan building construction drawings and the detail of structural systems for preparation to carrying out

construction work tenders; calculate the volume of material from the drawing of construction.

Learning Outcomes : On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: choose middle rise-building system including structure design, construction drawings and isometry utilities drawings; design structure systems and utilities network in three dimensional form for middle rise-building; describes structure and construction systems include  building utilities; calculate structures and utilities for middle rise building; estimate building cost by used a simple calculate budget.

Learning Outcomes : On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: Design a wide span building system including structural design, roofing, and appropriate building envelope; Create a diagram/scheme of building construction and isometry structure; Plan building construction drawings and the detail of structure systems; Choose building materials; Describe system structure, construction and building utilities; Create a scheme of detail structure drawings.

R0504 – BUILDING TECHNOLOGY IV (4 Credits)

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students will able to understand structural and building utility systems for high-rise building; Design integrated building systems for high-rise building, including axonometric and isometric drawings.

Topics : Various function of buildings regarding to building permit and building codes; Structural systems for high-rise building; Loading systems and load combination for high-rise building and building stability; Approximate methods in structural analysis for high-rise building, volume and structural density; Allowable load for pile and raft foundation; Axonometric and isometric drawings; Integrated building systems in high-rise building.

Learning Outcomes : By the end of this course, student will be able to: Identify the characteristics of traditional architecture of various ethnics in Indonesia; Explain the outline of architecture history.

Learning Outcomes : On successful completion of this Course, students will be able to: Describe the relationship between climate and architecture; Describe some characteristics of various climates in the world which affect buildings;  Describe the terms of Tropical Architecture in a broad sense and able to provide such proper examples of Tropical Buildings; Describe all important elements which form Tropical Building; Explain all physical comforts required in Tropical Building; Syntesis design concepts of Tropical Building which meet human comfort requirements.

Topics : Design and integration of the main mechanical and electrical services within the fabric and structure  of buildings, with the main focus on heating, ventilating and air conditioning, vertical transportation, electrical power, lighting, fire protection, and water supply services.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students will be able to understand interior presentation in the connection with architectural design process.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the student will be able to understand theory and process of interior designing; Develop space and detail related to an architectural project; Apply interior design presentation in the real case.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students should be able to : Understand project management; Apply management function in project management; Calculate the work volume and estimating the budget ; Analyze the profit and lost for various contracts.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students will be able to understand architecture according to sustainable design, relationship between building and environment; Define the architectural design principles in environmental sustainability; Apply the principles of design into practice in which environmental sustainability is considered.

R0976 – REAL ESTATE DESIGN (6 Credits) 

Learning Outcomes :  After completing this course, the students are able to design housing estate based on Land Use analysis, not only produce Housing Master Plan but also concept of its development phase.  Moreover, student should understand also any regulation related to housing estate development and integration all infrastructures to surrounding area. ‘Green’ area as an important aesthetic aspect in housing estate should be analyzed as well.

Topics : Market analysis, Site Analysis, Design Concept for Housing Master Plan, Infrastructure analysis includes proposed concept for transportation, road pattern, raw water source, electricity, garbage and drainage system.

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students should be able to : Make architectural design animation digitally (computerized); Make a building design and animate them; Make a building design animation for presentation; Walk-through, building transform, climate analysis studies; Make a multimedia.

Topics : Lighting design: influencing factors, basic design, lighting control, integration, maintenance, emergency and security lighting; Interior lighting: visual performance, visual comfort, energy and cost effectiveness; Application: office, educational building, shops and stores, hospital, home, museum; Sports lighting: glare, color, emergency.

 

R1032 – INTERIOR INSTALLATION (2 Credits)

Learning Outcomes : After completing this course, the students should be able to : Design interior project and understand its specification and installation; Able to combine any kind of materials for interior and its joints; Understand the structure and characteristic of material, color, expression and its combination.

Topics : Introduction to interior installation; Technical drawing of interior installation; Material of installation for interior; Technical specification and installation.
